This session will focus on physical and mental wellness and explore ways to create peaceful moments amidst the many challenges that are faced on a regular basis. Participants will explore the meaning of acceptance, and the term 'self-care' and what these concepts actually look like in real homes. Participants will also explore how these concepts relate to our ability to be the best version of ourselves while being the 'best' for the ones that we love.
Angela is a Social Worker in private practice with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families with complicated mental health and learning challenges in a variety of settings. She has a particular interest in FAD and has continued her research; both formal and informal dedicated to understanding what FAD looks like across the lifespan and across sectors from the family and front- line perspective. She recently authored a book titled, A Complicated and Beautiful Brain, to help deepen understanding of the condition itself, reduce the stigma, and to highlight how many missed ones there are out there who are struggling to be better understood.
