Mindfulness program for youth exceeds organizers’ expectations

An online program for children aged five to the late teens, facilitated locally by Angela Geddes of Dutton, has received an “overwhelming response” and is now full.
Funded by Health Nexus, the six-week program is designed to explain how mindfulness can help children struggling with attention deficit disorder, problems with sleeping, anger management issues and with anxiety.
The program was promoted through Aldborough Public School’s social media account on Jan. 27, explaining that sessions would be held on six consecutive Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The program is the product of author and mindfulness educator Sherry-Lynn Kirschner, who says she received “500 emails in the first few days” from registrants.
